Letter to the Editor: Where's the story?

Baylor University (a small private school) is located in Waco, Texas, and is a member of the Big 12. For years the school assumed the official title of "doormat." This spell was broken last year when the football team went 10-3, winning a bowl game, while producing many school records and a Heisman quarterback in Robert Griffin III, an Elite Eight basketball team and an undefeated women's basketball team and national champion.
Second only to the University of Texas, Baylor has won more conference championships in all sports than any other Big 12 team.
Last month, they played University of Louisiana-Monroe in Monroe, and won a very close game. Since it was a late game, I did not expect to find a big write-up in the Saturday Tulsa World, but did find the score under BIG 12 Standings thinking there would be a nice story Sunday or a box score. On Sunday there was no story, no box score, but the same line item of Friday's games under Big 12 Standings. The Monday Tulsa World did not mention the game.
This is hard to understand since Baylor remains a member of the BIG 12 and has many Baylor alumni living in this fair city. As I have said before: This is small town reporting. Well, at least I have a daughter in Dallas who will send a large Saturday morning story from the Dallas Morning News.
