Tennis: NSU's Ron Cox retiring

Northeastern State's Ron Cox has announced his retirement, effective Nov. 1. Cox has been head coach of women's tennis since 1992. The 1993 NSU Athletic Hall of Fame honoree has spent a total of 41 years at Northeastern State, beginning when he first stepped on campus as a student in 1960.

Cox started coaching at NSU as an assistant in men's basketball, where he served for four years (1971-73, 1978-80). He was head men's basketball coach for two years beginning in the 1980-81 season.
