For Oklahoma's Congressional District 2, lobbyists, special interest groups and Washington are the epitome of Oklahoma values, right? Do any of our voters in District 2 know who Michael Fulks is? He's also running for Congress. Do the voters understand how he will tackle our issues in comparison to the way Republican Markwayne Mullin and Democrat Rob Wallace will?

Fulks isn't being pushed by special interest groups, so you won't see him on TV, and he refuses to take their money unlike the other two candidates who cannot get enough of it.

Sadly, this means the Claremore Daily Progress, Claremore Chamber of Commerce, Rogers State University Communications Department and public television station didn't invite Fulks to debate against Wallace and Mullin at RSU on Oct. 29.

I guess being an independent is un-American and un-democratic in the eyes of many voters, just like it is to RSU and Claremore. What Washington and lobbyists want is next to godliness in the eyes of Oklahomans, right? Are we in favor of electing the same people over and over again - those who do the bidding of special interest groups and not our own? Weren't those the lyrics from The Who: "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

I guess conservative issues are on sale to the highest (or lowest) bidder in Washington, all of which will be outsourced to other groups with different agendas.
