Afghanistan: As of Wednesday, at least 2,007 members of the U.S. military had died as a result of the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, according to an Associated Press count. No new deaths were reported.
The latest identification reported by the military:
- Navy Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Milton W. Brown, 28, of Dallas, died Aug. 4 from a noncombat-related incident in Rota, Spain. He was assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 137, Lemoore, Calif.
