Melissa Etheridge to play The Joint on Thursday

Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Melissa Etheridge brings her acclaimed music to Tulsa, 8 p.m. Thursday at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa. Doors open at 7 p.m.
Tickets start at $55 and are available at tulsaworld.com/hardrockcasino, the venue box office or by calling 918-384-7625. Guests must be at least 21 years old.
The 51-year-old had her breakthrough in 1993 with her fourth album, "Yes I Am," which sold more than 6 million copies and spent more than two years on the Billboard charts. The album's hits included the Grammy Award-winning "Come to My Window," along with "I'm the Only One."
For more than 25 years, the Kansas-born musician has been a consistent voice in rock music, building a loyal fanbase and winning many awards, including two Grammys and an Academy Award.
She released her 12th studio album, "4th Street Feeling," late last year. It is named after the main drive in her hometown of Leavenworth, Kan. The first single, "Falling Up," was released in August.
Other popular songs by Etheridge include "Ain't It Heavy," "Bring Me Some Water," "No Souvenirs," "I Want to Come Over" and "I Run for Life."
She also hosts "The Melissa Etheridge Radio Show," which is syndicated through Benztown Radio Networks.
Etheridge has long been an iconic gay and lesbian rights activist, as well as an activist for green causes, cancer awareness and other issues.
