Letter to the Editor: Reconsider decision

The state Department of Health's most recent decision to cut off WIC resources to Planned Parenthood health centers just goes to show how intolerant politicians really are. By removing these resources, they are cutting off food subsidies to thousands of Oklahoma women and children. Planned Parenthood is already being attacked on several fronts with the upcoming election; this is clearly yet another calculated attack against it.
Politicians already have begun taking away a woman's access to birth control and cancer screenings and now they are making moves against the children of Oklahoma. The department needs to reconsider its decision and restore the WIC contract with Planned Parenthood. Many women rely on these services to ensure the health of their whole family; we cannot just stand by and let politicians take that away.
