YUKON — Authorities said a man was struck and killed while walking along Interstate 40 in Canadian County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the man was walking near the eastbound lanes of I-40 at Garth Brooks Boulevard when he was struck by a car early Friday morning.
The wreck caused the shutdown of parts of Interstate 40 for about an hour Friday morning.
Authorities said the driver of the car was also injured in the collision.
Oklahoma City television station KOCO reports that troopers have not yet released the name of the pedestrian but said he lived in El Reno.
