Kansas tops preseason Big 12 poll, OSU third

In a preseason poll of Big 12 head basketball coaches, Oklahoma State was picked to finish third this season and Oklahoma was selected seventh.
With nine first-place votes, Kansas was the unanimous preseason favorite for the 11th time in Big 12 history. The Jayhawks have captured eight straight outright or shared regular-season titles.
Baylor received the other first-place vote and came in second, its highest finish in preseason voting. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
OSU trailed the Bears by three votes and received its highest preseason ranking since 2006, when the Cowboys also were third.
The Sooners followed Texas, Kansas State and West Virginia. Iowa State, Texas Tech and TCU rounded out the poll.
