FIRST QUARTER
Key play: DeAundre Brown sacked UTEP quarterback Nick Lamaison on third down late in the first quarter to force the Miners to punt.
Key stat: 2-of-5. The Golden Hurricane defense held the Miners to just 2-of-5 on third downs.
Number to know: 31. TU kicker Daniel Schwarz hit a 31-yard field goal early in the first quarter to give the Golden Hurricane a 3-0 lead.
