OKLAHOMA CITY - It was a question of when, not if, Moore would score against Broken Arrow Friday in the Class 6A state fast-pitch softball semifinals at Hall of Fame Stadium.
The Lions put runners on base in every inning and threatened to break it open. However, Broken Arrow used great fielding plays to escape.
The Lions finally got through with three unearned runs in the sixth to topple Broken Arrow 3-0 and advance to the championship game.
Moore (34-2) again rode the brilliant pitching of junior Jenna Lynn, who struck out six, scattered four hits and did not allow a Tiger runner to reach third base.
Moore will face Edmond North (34-2) in Saturday's 4 p.m. championship. Edmond North knocked off Yukon 9-4 in the other semifinal. This will be the first time the two teams have met this season.
"She kept us off balance," said Tiger coach Randall King of Lynn's pitching. "She did a good job."
Broken Arrow (30-4) kept Moore scoreless through 5 2/3 innings with great defensive plays by catcher Theresa Collins.
Collins made a sweeping tag at home to get a runner in the fourth, and in the sixth stepped in front of the plate to pick up a slow roller and tag out Hannah Lynch trying to score from third. Collins held the ball despite a collision with Lynch.
However, Moore kept pressing in the sixth and loaded the bases with a walk.
Broken Arrow pitcher Elena Gambill walked Tianna Gutierrez to force in one run. Moore hitting star Caiti Hall followed by slapping a two-run single to left field to complete the scoring. Hall finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
Gambill had no easy innings. Moore stranded nine runners. Gambill walked three for the game and two of those walks came in the crucial sixth inning.
Of Collins' play behind the plate, King said that was typical of the entire team's effort.
"She hung in there," King said. "She made the plays. We've been doing that all year. We do what we need to try and win."
Collins and Hannah Heinrichs were the only Tigers to reach second base.
Collins was on second with no outs following her leadoff single and a passed ball. Henrichs had a one-out single in the seventh and made it to second on a fielder's choice.
Edmond North 9, Yukon 4: Pitcher Jordan Dixon limited Yukon to four hits to get the Huskies to the final.
Edmond North's Sheridan Bond and Madison Nordyke each had two hits. Teammate Bridget White added a two-run triple and a sacrifice fly for three RBIs.
Yukon (28-6) spotted Edmond North a 7-0 led, but battled back with four runs in the last three innings. The Millers' Bri Matthews had a solo home run in the sixth.
