Johnson scores twice in U.S. victory: Eddie Johnson rewarded his coach's faith in him - twice.

In his first game back with the U.S. national team, Johnson scored twice Friday night, including the winning goal in second-half injury time, lifting the United States to the verge of advancing in World Cup qualifying with a 2-1 victory over Antigua and Barbuda in North Sound, Antigua and Barbuda.

If the Americans beat Guatemala on Tuesday night in Kansas City, Kan., they will move into the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Johnson connected on headers in the 20th minute and then in the dying moments in his first game for the U.S. team in two years. He was added to the squad by coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

Tulsa tops Marshall: Raven Tatum scored two goals to give the Tulsa women's soccer team a 2-0 win over Marshall on Friday night in Huntington, W.Va. TU moved to 8-5-2 on the season and 3-3-1 in Conference USA, while the Thundering Herd fell to 6-8-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the league.

OU beats Kansas: OU (5-7-4, 1-2-2 Big 12) recorded its first Big 12 victory of the season Friday night with a 1-0 win over Kansas (8-5-2, 2-3) in Norman. Renae Cuellar scored the OU goal and Kelsey Devonshire recorded her 16th career shutout.

ORU women win: The Oral Roberts women's team won in extra time for the second straight match, defeating McNeese State 2-1 on the road. Whitney Booth scored the game-winner with her first goal of the season.

Golf

Mallinger leads Frys.com Open: John Mallinger opened a four-stroke lead Friday in the Frys.com Open, making an eagle and two birdies on the final four holes for a 9-under 62. Mallinger eagled the par-5 15th and closed with consecutive birdies. Billy Horschel and Jhonattan Vegas were second. Horschel had a 65, and Vegas shot 67.

Forsman takes lead at Greater Hickory Classic: Dan Forsman overcame back problems Friday to shoot a 7-under 65 and take a one-stroke lead over Fred Funk, David Frost and Larry Mize in the Greater Hickory Classic in Conover, N.C.

Britton, Bolling top Senior PGA Professional: Past champion Bill Britton and Charlie Bolling shared the second-round lead Friday in the Senior PGA Professional National Championship in Aldie, Va.

Defending champ Choi leads LPGA Malaysia: Defending champion Na Yeon Choi took a two-stroke lead Friday in the LPGA Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, shooting a 4-under 67 to reach 10 under. American Sydnee Michaels was second after a 65.

Basketball

Bixby forward commits to Tulsa: The mother of Stevi Parker reports that the 6-foot-1 Bixby senior forward has committed to signing a letter of intent with the University of Tulsa women's program.

Parker is rated a three-star national prospect by ESPN and reportedly received 18 Division I scholarship offers.

Verbal commitments are not binding. Recruits may sign national letters of intent on Nov. 14. Last season, Parker was a Tulsa World All-State honorable mention.

Volleyball

Henderson leads TU to win: Senior Tyler Henderson pounded 31 kills and hit .434, and senior Jessica Adams had 30 digs as the University of Tulsa defeated UTEP in five sets at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

OU sweeps Baylor: Senior libero Maria Fernanda surpassed 2,000 career digs as Oklahoma defeated Baylor in three sets Friday evening.
