In the presidential debate, Mitt Romney mentioned the $445 million saved by withdrawing funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (and consequently Big Bird).
Boy, could America ever make good use of such freed-up money. According to a 2010 Government Accountability Office report, a single RQ-4A drone such as deployed in the skies over the two Stans costs the taxpayer $176 million.
Just think. By canceling Big Bird we could almost pay for three more drones to protect us from evil.
