We are winding down the introduction to our new trash service, which very few residents of Tulsa wanted. But of course wiser heads prevailed and we got what someone else wanted but not the people who are paying the price. In the process, the city managed to spend $14 million-plus to give us what we did not want.
So now we are getting the Vision2 Plan, $750 million to be spent in areas that would probably benefit the city. But who decided? There are a lot of "what ifs" in this proposal. It appears to be a grab-bag spending spree. For goodness sake, will government officials ever learn anything? Same mistakes get the same results. The old adage, "Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance," should be applied in this case. It is not important to vote on this by a certain date the general election on Nov. 6 but it is very important to get it right!
