WAGONER -- About $100,000 worth of copper was stolen from a machine shop over the weekend, police said.

The theft at SC Piping and Mechanical, 223 S. Main St., likely happened between Friday night and Monday morning, Wagoner Police Chief Bob Haley said.

The amount of stolen material has not yet been tallied, but it is significant, he said.

"At this point, we haven't gotten a total list of all the items that are gone," he said. "They're still trying to audit and get that information."

Police are investigating whether any former or current employees were involved, but have no specific leads, he said.

"Just doing some general followup," he said. "Checking our normal regulars around town that might fit that M.O."

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact the Wagoner Police Department at 918-485-5511.
