Letter to the Editor: No recipe

It felt like a farce but truly was a tragedy to listen to Mitt Romney explain bipartisanship as the way to carry the country forward. It has been the singular and oft-repeated goal of the Republican Party to defeat President Obama in his re-election bid. By their own admission that has been their primary objective since his election in 2008.
That is not a recipe for bipartisanship and it certainly isn't a recipe for national leadership. It is, however, a recipe for the same old dysfunctional Washington gridlock, deliberately perpetrated and deliberately sustained. That is what the Republican Party has to offer the country? That is a tragedy waiting to happen. Again.
