Noble scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, and Hale had a pass intercepted in the end zone in the final seconds as the Rangers suffered their third straight loss Friday night, 20-13 at Eastside Sports Complex.

Noble scored in the final 30 seconds, before Hale tried to mount a comeback.

In the final minute and down by seven, the Rangers began a drive at their own 43.

Hale's Sheldon Carter passed 37 yards to Christian Frazier to the Noble 20-yard line. On the next play, Frazier spiked the ball to stop the clock with six seconds left. Then, on second down, Frazier's pass was picked off in the end zone.

Hale junior running back B.J. Terrell finished with 18 carries for 77 yards.

The Rangers, who face Shawnee next week, fall to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in District 5A-3. Noble and Hale had been in a four-way tie for the last playoff spot in District 5A-3.

Noble (4-4 overall, 2-3 in district) faces Durant next week.

The Rangers struck first, when Frazier connected with Carter for a 21-yard touchdown pass. Senior Bradley South made the extra point, his first successful point after this year.

The Bears responded quickly, when running back Jimmy Wood ran 13 yards for a touchdown, tying the game at 7 with nine minutes left in the first half.

The Bears and Rangers stayed tied until 12 minutes were left.

The Rangers were able to take the lead on Frazier's 21-yard TD to Kejuan Clark in the back of the end zone. The extra-point kick was blocked, which left the score 13-7.

The Bears took no time finding the end zone when Wood ran 10 yards for the touchdown. The extra point made it 14-13 with eight minutes left.

On the ensuing drive, the Rangers faced a fourth-and-1 with two minutes left, and failed to convert. Later, Wood scored on a 2-yard touchdown run with 26 seconds left, bringing the score to 20-13.
