EMSA ambulances will be at various locations soon to collect new hats, underwear, gloves and socks - H.U.G.S. - to be donated to adults, teen and children in need this winter.

The clothing drive starts at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the main entrance to the University of Tulsa's H.A. Chapman stadium.

"As a paramedic we know the toll extreme temperatures can take on the body, and want to do what we can to help keep everyone warm this winter especially those without consistent, comfortable housing," said Brianne Smedley, an EMSA emergency medical technician who is organizing the drive.

Hats, gloves, underwear and socks in all sizes are needed. They will be distributed to local shelters, day centers and nursing homes.

Ambulances will be parked at the following locations to collect items:

Saturday: The University of Tulsa homecoming game, main entrance to stadium, 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Thursday: Woodland Hills Mall, Acorn lot entrance by Macy's, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Friday: IHOP, 101 S. Highway 97, Sand Springs, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Oct. 27: Village Inn, 2745 S. Harvard Avenue. 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
