An Owasso teenager was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle wreck near Mohawk Park early Sunday.
Police said six teenagers were heading west in a silver Pontiac on Port Road near Mohawk Park just after midnight when was deer ran in front of the car, causing the driver to swerve and lose control, Cpl. Dave Crow said.
The car hit a grassy median and then flipped multiple times before stopping, Crow said.
A rear female passenger sitting on the lap of another passenger sustained serious injuries, Crow said. She was transported to a Tulsa hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The 18-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Crow said.
The other passengers, all under 18, were picked up by their parents from the scene, he said.
Police do not believe alcohol or drugs contributed to crash although blood was drawn at the scene, Crow said.
No citations were issued following the crash, police said.
