Coweta man dies in one-car crash near Catoosa

A Coweta man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Admiral Boulevard east of Catoosa on Friday night, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
James R. Sawyer, 48, was a passenger in a 2012 Chevrolet sedan that was speeding west about 9 p.m. when it left the road to the right, flipped over its hood and rolled multiple times and landed on its wheels at Rogers County Road 409 (225th East Avenue), troopers said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, David Hetherington, 48, of Broken Arrow was taken in stable condition to a Tulsa hospital, the OHP reported.
Both occupants were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
