Local architect Jack Arnold is known for luxurious home plans with exquisite attention to detail. His flair for design is evident in many homes throughout the Tulsa area. One of his homes is the Preston Place residence at 7980 S. 90th E. Ave. The community is one of five neighborhoods in The Villages of Highland Park, which is located northwest of 81st Street and Mingo Road.

Built in 1999, the house was purchased by Jake and Kasey Jackson in 2009. The couple was attracted to the home’s French country interior and outdoor living areas.

“The backyard was the main thing for me,” said Kasey. The large backyard includes an expansive covered patio that is perfect for casual entertaining. The Jacksons added a beautiful free-form pool, which was done by Atlantis Pools.

The pool has a heat and chill pump on it as well as new fiber optic lighting. The pump extends the seasons you can use the pool comfortably.

“We spend a lot of our time in the backyard,” Kasey added. “The patio has speakers, a TV and an outdoor grill.”

The house is located in a cul-de-sac, and the yard is one of the largest in the neighborhood. Enclosing the backyard are nice iron fences on the sides with a more substantial fence at the back.

“The golf course is across the street (behind the house) so you don’t have to worry about another house coming in,” Kasey said.

The backyard living areas are a big draw, but the home’s interior is just as appealing. Doors in the great room and breakfast nook/kitchen area open the house to the backyard for full entertaining.

The great room is a grand space with a vaulted and beamed ceiling, hand-toweled finish on the walls, hardwood flooring and a cast-stone fireplace. The formal dining room across the hall has a beamed ceiling as well.

The nearby kitchen is stunning. Hardwood flooring flows throughout most of the main level. Gorgeous cabinetry is abundant in the kitchen and includes a butler’s pantry near the dining room. The kitchen island is painted to standout from the rest of the cabinetry and is topped with granite. A sink is on one side, while the other has space for casual dining.

“We wanted the island to be more of a furniture piece so we made it a different color,” said Kasey.

The utility and a large walk-in closet are conveniently located off the kitchen. The master suite is on the main level. This retreat also has access to the outdoor living area. In addition to a sitting area, the master suite has a beautiful bathroom with a large whirlpool tub and separate shower.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and a Pullman bath. A surprise feature is a large bonus room with a private entrance near one of the bedrooms.

“We use it as a playroom,” Kasey said. With the addition of a closet, it could easily be converted into a fifth bedroom.

The Villages of Highland Park is a beautiful development with a pond and walking paths. Preston Park is one of three gated communities within the neighborhood.

“Preston Park has access to the pond,” Kasey said. “It’s nice to walk the dogs or walk the kids past all the ducks and black swans. There also is a park in a different neighborhood.”

Listed for $420,000, the home will be open 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, contact Taylor at 918-798-7453 or email to susit@tulsarealtors.com.
