Oklahoma markets

The state Department of Agriculture reported the following closing prices Tuesday:

U.S. No. 1 HARD RED WINTER WHEAT: Mixed, mostly .07 to .08 lower. 8.12-8.68.

Davis 8.12, Shattuck 8.41, Banner, El Reno, Geary, Okarche, Okeene, Temple, Watonga 8.42, Frederick, Lawton, Manchester 8.43, Cherokee, Medford, Perry, Ponca City, Stillwater 8.45, Alva, Buffalo 8.46, Clinton 8.50, Hooker 8.52, Keyes 8.58, Hobart, Weatherford 8.63, Eldorado 8.68, Gulf 9.575.

MILO: Steady to .10 lower. 12.16-13.17. Alva, Buffalo, Manchester, Medford, Ponca City, Shattuck, Weatherford 12.16, Keyes 13.14, Hooker 13.17.

SOYBEANS: .06 to .15 higher. 14.56- 14.88. Shattuck 14.56, Hooker 14.68, Alva, Buffalo 14.79, Medford, Ponca City, Stillwater 14.88, Gulf 16.27 1/2.

CORN: .05 to .06 lower. 7.11-7.93. Manchester, Medford, Ponca City 7.11, Keyes 7.91, Hooker 7.93, Gulf 8.22 1/2.

CANOLA (CWT): 21.58-22.08: Blackwell 21.58, Dacoma 21.76, Apache 21.80, Clyde 21.86, Enid 21.88, Hillsdale 21.90, El Reno 21.98, Yukon 22.08. Grade 41, Leaf 4, Staple 34 Cotton in southwestern Oklahoma averaged 68.00 cents per pound.

EGGS: Large 1.37; medium 1.18, small 96 cents.

Oklahoma livestock

The state Department of Agriculture reported the following prices Tuesday at the Oklahoma City Stockyards: Receipts: 9,324; week ago: 8,923; year ago: 9,478.

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 1-3 higher.

Demand for feeder cattle is very good. Steer calves 2-6 higher. Heifer calves steady. Demand very good for steers, moderate for heifers as farmers look to buy calves for wheat pasture. Quality mostly average, end attractive. Wheat pasture in the Southwest part of the state as well as the North Texas region is in pretty good shape, as recent rains has help them tremendously. Wheat pasture in Northwestern Oklahoma is still in need of a good rain. Supply included 57 percent over 600 lbs; 41 percent heifers.
