Letter to the Editor: Dreaming?

It is a fact that the GOP has stated many times that their No. 1 goal from day one was to make President Obama a one-term president. If Mitt Romney should win election Nov. 6, I am reasonably sure the Democrats’ goal will be to make him a one-term president.

Many people have rightly become disgusted with the current congressional representatives and senators who have repeatedly shown their unwillingness to make joint decisions that would benefit the U.S. I would expect the new representatives and senators would behave the same way if Romney is elected.

If I am right, we can expect to see four more years of do-nothingness.

I have a solution: Re-elect President Obama. That way, the GOP would no longer need to focus on such a narrowminded effort to make him a one-term president, and they could focus instead on working for the people, which is what the people elect them to do.

Wouldn’t it be great to see progress again? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to say “thank you” to your congressman and senators for a job well done? Am I dreaming? Maybe so, but I have faith that the people of this country, with or without help from Congress, will eventually do what is right for all, not just for a few. The pendulum will swing back.
