Tulsa police are seeking a man who grabbed money out of a convenience store cash register early Thursday.

A man entered the Kicks 66 at 4725 E. 51st St. around 1:30 a.m. and asked the cashier for change, Officer Jill Roberson said.

When the cashier opened the register, the man reached over the counter and removed cash from the open drawer, Roberson said.

The cashier fought the assailant, which police say prevented him from getting away with more money, and the man fled west on foot.

The man is described as black, 6 feet tall with a “thick” build and moles on the left side of his face. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, denim shorts and black Nike tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677) or submit a tip online at tulsaworld.com/crimestoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may earn a reward.
