Pet-related events scheduled to celebrate Halloween

A few pet-related Halloween events are also scheduled this week.
Whole Foods, 1401 E. 41st St., will host the HOWL-O-WEEN Adoption Spooktacular from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The adoption event will feature available animals from several rescue organizations, including Friends of Bartlesville Paws, 4 the Animals Veterinary Clinic & Rescue and Oklahoma Rescue Rangers. A "Scary Pet" costume contest is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Also on Saturday, Barktoberfest will be part of Owasso's annual Harvest Festival/Chili Cook-off. The event will be at Rayola Park, 8300 N. Owasso Expressway, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pet contests, including for best costumes, microchipping and dog vaccinations will all be part of the event.
The Humane Society of Tulsa, 6232 S. 60th St., also invites the public to stop by any time from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Halloween day to enjoy some cider and cookies as they admire the costumes donned by the staff and animals and consider adopting a pet.
The society is accepting costume donations for dogs through Halloween.
