A Tulsa home undergoing renovations was destroyed by fire early Friday.

The Tulsa Fire Department was called to the 1800 block of East 31st Place at 4:16 a.m., fire officials said.

Crews arrived to find flames engulfing the 2,000-square-foot home’s entire roof and fire damage to 75 percent of the residence, said Fire Capt. Stan May. Seven fire trucks worked to contain the blaze, but the home was a total loss, he said.

The home was undergoing a complete remodel, including the addition of a new room, and most of the homeowner’s belongings were in storage, May said.

Investigators are still working to determine the fire’s cause, which they did not immediately consider to be suspicious.
