Authorities are searching for an inmate with ties to northeast Oklahoma who was unaccounted for at a minimum security facility in McAlester.

Alvin Boyer was missing at the 8:30 a.m. count Friday at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Facility, said Jerry Massie, public information officer with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Boyer, 27, was convicted in 2011 on multiple charges in Ottawa County, including firearms and methamphetamine charges, records show.

Massie said Boyer has family in the Kansas and Missouri areas.

He is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 163 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes. He has multiple, distinct tattoos over most of his body, including his face and neck, records show.

Massie said he should be considered dangerous.
