Blackwell bicyclist dies after being hit by truck

PONCA CITY — A bicyclist died Thursday after being struck by a pickup in Kay County.
Roy Leon Davis, 66, of Blackwell was flown by medical helicopter to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he was pronounced dead, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol release.
Davis suffered head injuries after a 2012 GMC pickup struck his bicycle as the pickup attempted to pass Davis on Hubbard Road about a half of a mile west of Pecan Road, around 12:15 p.m., troopers said.
