OSU to hold global horticulture conference Nov. 7

STILLWATER - Gardeners interested in learning about horticulture from around the world are invited to the third Global Horticulture Conference that begins at 8 a.m. Nov. 7 in room 110 of the Wes Watkins Center at OSU in Stillwater.
The conference will feature horticulture information from such locations as East Africa, Egypt, Libya, Italy, Democratic Republic of Congo and Argentina. OSU specialists and other experts will discuss such topics including agricultural development in war-torn countries, food security issues in East Africa and Italian Renaissance gardens during the day's breakout sessions.
"The goal is to expose participants to horticultural practices and crops from around the world," said Mike Schnelle, OSU Cooperative Extension ornamental floriculture specialist.
Registration for the conference is $80, includes lunch and must be postmarked by Oct. 29. The Botanic Garden at OSU members, Master Gardeners, OSU Cooperative Extension educators and students may register for $60. Please register soon as seating is limited. Walk-ins and late registrations will not be accepted.
