A woman was killed when she fell asleep while driving in Nowata County just after noon Tuesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Deborah Feeback, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene on U.S. 60 about seven miles west of Nowata, troopers said. The patrol reported that she was from Delaware, Okla., but a funeral home reported that she was from Nowata.

Her passenger, John McCutcheon, 73, of Delaware, Okla., was admitted to Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville with a head injury, the OHP reported. He told troopers that Feeback had fallen asleep while driving, the agency reported.

Troopers said the 2001 Pontiac sedan she was driving east ran off the left side of the road, went back across the highway and off the right side of the road, hit a fence and rolled 1½ times, coming to rest on its top.

Both Feeback and McCutcheon were wearing seat belts, troopers reported.
