Letter to the Editor: Romney a phony

When Mitt Romney was governor he changed his political position so many times he got nicknamed "the chameleon" by the wags of Massachusetts. His latest effort to pass himself off as a friend of the middle class is ludicrous.
Romney's long-standing subterfuge in not revealing his offshore bank accounts alone disqualifies him from being president of the United States. It may be perfectly "legal" for him to invest millions overseas to avoid paying American taxes, but it is certainly immoral for him to do so. It speaks volumes about the contempt he has for our beleaguered middle class whose burdens support his obscene wealth.
His pious platitudes enunciating his deep love of God and this country convince no one who is even remotely perceptive. He comes across as the complete phony that he is. His compassion extends to only his family and a small circle of close friends. He sees the rest of the world as easy pickings to be manipulated and then be damned.
Romney is a fraudulent, un-American hypocrite.
