Peoria Avenue to close north of 61st starting tomorrow

Beginning Friday, south Peoria Avenue will be closed just north of east 61st Street for about two weeks for the installation of a 48-inch sanitary sewer.
Officials said detours will be marked to guide motorists around the road closure.
According to a news release, this sanitary sewer work is part of an ongoing project to widen 61st between Riverside Parkway and Peoria, as well as the Peoria intersection.
The city of Tulsa has contracted with Becco Contractors Inc. for this $11 million project paid for by 2006 third-penny sales tax funds, the release states.
Completion of the widening project is scheduled for March 2013.
