Open carry now law in Oklahoma

Thursday, November 01, 2012
The nearly 142,000 Oklahomans with a handgun license can now carry their handgun openly.
The state’s open carry law went into effect Thursday, making Oklahoma the 44th state to allow some form of open carrying of firearms.
Some restrictions still apply, however. Handguns that are openly carried must be less than 16 inches long and .45 caliber or smaller. No guns are allowed into government buildings, public meetings, bars, schools, college campuses and other places where signs specifically ban weapons.
