Prospective homebrewers won't want to miss the American Homebrewers Association "Learn to Homebrew Day" on Saturday at High Gravity Homebrewing & Winemaking Supplies, 7142 S. Memorial Drive.
The event is scheduled 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
"The Homebrewers Association holds these events all over the country every year," said Desiree Knott, who owns High Gravity with husband Dave. "This is the 14th year for the event.
"We will have volunteers from FOAM (Fellowship of Oklahoma Alemakers) on the sidewalk in front of our store, probably 10 people brewing batches of beer, answering questions and providing samples."
Knott said High Gravity will be offering 10 percent off starter kits during the event. Established beer brewers who bring a friend will receive $10 gift certificates if that friend buys a starter kit.
"The event is geared toward education and awareness and how easy it is to get involved in brewing beer at home," Knott said.
She said pizza will be served to those present about 12:30 p.m.
