Letter to the Editor: Don’t judge
BY Charles Lile, Hulbert

There is an aphorism that
says, “if you cannot say something
good about someone,
do not say anything at all.”
One of the candidates running
for one of the most highprofile,
major offices in Tuesday’s
general election has
given in to the tried and true
he-said, she-said rhetoric,
but with a twist. It has been
reported he has said people
living in poverty lack “discipline”
and “character.”
If he had the security of being
part of a family that had
money, basic necessities, educational
opportunities and
good health care, how can he
judge others who have not
had those same advantages?
That smacks of hypocrisy to
me. It sounds self-serving.
