WASHINGTON - Republican members of Oklahoma's congressional delegation have donated more than $1.7 million from their campaign accounts and political action committees to GOP candidates and national party organizations in the last two years, according to federal campaign reports.
Since most members of the delegation had little competition or no race at all this year, the lawmakers redirected some of the money they had collected to candidates with tough races or to the Republican campaign arms for House and Senate races.
The Oklahomans have sent some of their money to Republican congressional candidates in Oklahoma. Markwayne Mullin, the Republican running for the eastern Oklahoma seat being vacated by Rep. Dan Boren, has received $25,000 combined from Oklahoma's U.S. senators and three of its U.S. House members.
Jim Bridenstine, the Republican who defeated incumbent Rep. John Sullivan in the Tulsa-area district primary, has received $19,500.
