FIRST QUARTER

Key play: On OSU's sixth play, Wes Lunt delivered a perfectly thrown pass to a wide-open Austin Hays, who easily scored a 54-yard touchdown. It was Hays' second TD this season and the longest catch of his young career.

Key stat: 11:20. In the first quarter, the Wildcats had a possession time of 11 minutes, 20 seconds.

Number to know: 50. Both Lunt and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein completed a pass of at least 50 yards in the opening period.

SECOND QUARTER

Key play: Tulsa native Tyler Lockett burned OSU for a 100-yard kickoff return that gave Kansas State a 24-10 advantage.

Key stat: 2. The quarter had back-to-back kickoff returns for touchdowns. After Lockett's TD, Desmond Roland answered with an 80-yard return.

Number to know: 3. The Cowboys turned the ball over three times in the second period, including two interceptions by Lunt.

THIRD QUARTER

Key play: Early in the quarter, Klein threw a 42-yard bomb to Chris Harper, setting up Klein's 1-yard touchdown run to give the Wildcats a seemingly unsurmountable 38-17 lead.

Key stat: 2. In the third quarter, two backup quarterbacks took the field to replace apparently injured starters. Lunt was taken to the locker room while Klein watched from the sideline.

Number to know: 16. Through three quarters, both teams had completed 16 passes.

FOURTH QUARTER

Key play: After backup Clint Chelf hit Charlie Moore for a 13-yard touchdown to put OSU within two touchdowns early in the quarter, Jenks grad Tramaine Thompson returned the kickoff 60 yards to set up a field goal.

Key stat: 37:52. Kansas State maintained possession for 37 minutes and 52 seconds, more than 15 minutes longer than OSU.

Number to know: 5. The Cowboys turned the ball over five times, including three interceptions by Lunt and one by Chelf.
