Charges were filed Tuesday against a Tulsa woman who is accused of illegally operating a day-care home.

Chelsea Amanda Day, 24, is charged with one count of child neglect and two counts of operating a child-care facility without being licensed by the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Tulsa County District Court filings show.

Prosecutors allege that a 15-month-old girl sustained extensive bruising to her face and scalp while in Day's care in the 5900 block of East 25th Place on Sept. 22, court documents show.

Police went to Day's home in the 3300 block of 140th East Avenue on Thursday after DHS notified authorities that she had failed to cooperate with their investigation, documents said.

While at the home, a woman who came to pick up her child told police she discovered Day's day-care home on the online classified ads website Craigslist, reports show. The woman said she paid Day $75 per week to care for her 1-year-old son during her work hours, police said.

Day told investigators that she worked 24 hours per day six days a week caring for as many as six children, police said.

Day was arrested Thursday but was no longer in custody Tuesday evening.
