'Tis the season! November is here. Time has "fallen" back an hour. Let the holiday shopping events begin.

The Vintage Market Days Holiday Affair event starts at 1 p.m. Friday and runs through Sunday at Carmichael's Farm, 17137 S. Mingo Road in Bixby.

The upscale vintage-inspired indoor/outdoor market is held several times a year in communities across Oklahoma and features original art, antiques, clothing, handmade crafts, home decor, outdoor furnishings, foods, seasonal plants and other items great for the holidays and some gift-giving, too.

The market opens with its Early Buying Event from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Then it is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $10 Friday for the preview day, and $5 on Saturday and Sunday. Children younger than 12 years old will be admitted for free. Only cash will be accepted, and one ticket is good for re-entry into the market all weekend.

Night of Giving

Tulsa Promenade mall's annual Magical Night of Giving will be 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The one-night event kicks off the holiday season for the mall and gives shoppers the opportunity to help raise money for local nonprofit organizations.

Although the mall typically closes at 6 p.m., it will reopen for those who purchased tickets from such participating groups as the Booker T. Washington Pom Squad, The Salvation Army's Women's Auxiliary, Sandite Team Animal Rescue and others to enjoy the special shopping event featuring exclusive, mall-wide savings.

"The event is a win-win for everyone," Tulsa Promenade manager Sheila Cooper said. "The nonprofits virtually have an unlimited source of fundraising opportunities through ticket sales, and the retailers of Tulsa Promenade are able to offer discounts to the visitors thanking them for their patronage."

More than 40 organizations are participating, and they keep 100 percent of the proceeds from their ticket sales.

Tickets can still be purchased for $5 through one of the participating nonprofits, through Tulsa Promenade Guest Services, as well as at the door the night of the event.

For a complete list of nonprofits participating, visit tulsaworld.com/tulsapromenade or call 918-627-9282 ext. 6710 to speak with guest services.
