MUSKOGEE — A Muskogee man who was hospitalized after an apparently alcohol-related crash last month has died, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Friday.
Quincy Scott, 38, was admitted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa in critical condition after his Ford Explorer veered off 54th Street and struck a tree on Oct. 23, the OHP reported.
The crash occurred south of Border Street near Muskogee’s southwestern city limits around 4:30 p.m. The northbound SUV drove east off the roadway and struck a culvert before overcorrecting and veering off the west side of the road and hitting a tree, the OHP said.
No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
Scott was extricated by Muskogee firefighters and then was taken to St. Francis with a head injury, the report states. Two child passengers, ages 5 and 7, were treated at Muskogee Regional Medical Center and released.
Scott died Oct. 29.
Troopers reported detecting an odor of alcohol on Scott, and they attributed the crash to speed.
