Tulsa police apprehended a Sand Springs man who allegedly stole a case of beer and food from a QuikTrip convenience store before fleeing from police early Friday.
Justin Levi Brimer, 24, was arrested on complaints including driving under the influence, assault and battery on a police officer and endangering others while eluding police, jail records show.
An officer pulled into the QuikTrip parking lot at 519 N. Sheridan Road just before 2 a.m. when a clerk ran outside and pointed to a fleeing pickup, police said.
The officer activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to pull Brimer over, Officer Leland Ashley said. Brimer initially sped away but later was stopped on westbound Interstate 244 not far from the store.
The store attendant told police Brimer stole a 24-pack of beer and several food items, which were found in the pickup, Ashley said.
He was arrested after a brief confrontation with police.
Brimer is being held at the Tulsa Jail in lieu of $2,200 bond.
