Female master sommelier opens Tulsa liquor store

Randa Warren, one of the few female master sommeliers in North America, opened her own liquor store, Warren Wine & Spirits, at 8058 S. Yale Ave. on Thursday.
"By the bottle, we offer great service and selection paired with extensive knowledge and value," Warren said.
The Court of Master Sommeliers awarded Warren the title of master sommelier in 2007 following examinations and wine service performance at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in San Francisco.
That followed several years of intense study and moving up the ranks as a sommelier.
North America has fewer than 100 master sommeliers and fewer than 20 are women.
Warren said her store will carry a wide range of wines, beers and spirits.
Though the store has a Yale Avenue address, it actually faces 81st Street, three doors west of a Rib Crib restaurant. The phone number is 918-960-3008.
