SAPULPA – Three people were killed following a head-on collision west of Sapulpa on Sunday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Dead are Carmen Spicer, 36, of Mannford, and Donald L. Clift, 54, and Jana T. Clift, 52, both of Amarillo, Texas.
Spicer was driving west on Oklahoma 33 near 193rd West Avenue, just west of the Kellyville exit of the Turner Turnpike when the 2001 Chevrolet pickup she was driving crossed the center line and collided with Donald Clift’s eastbound 2010 Buick SUV about 12:15 p.m., troopers said.
It was not known why Spicer’s vehicle crossed the center line, the OHP reported.
Spicer was pinned for 45 minutes before being extricated by Kellyville firefighters.
The Clifts were also pinned for 45 minutes before they were freed by Sapulpa firefighters, the OHP reported.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers reported Spicer was not wearing a seat belt. Donald and Jana Clift were wearing seat belts, troopers said.
A stretch of Oklahoma 33 near the crash site was closed until shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday while crews worked the scene.
