Letter to the Editor: Big thank-you

I like to consider myself a real live nephew of Uncle Sam as I received my discharge from the Army on July 4, 1946. I received two Bronze Stars, three campaign stars plus numerous awards serving in France, Belgium and Germany. The award I cherish most is the honor to fly our stars and stripes 24/7 in my yard rather than to be compelled to fly the Japanese or the Nazi Germany flag.
A big thank-you for all the veterans who helped me achieve those awards. God bless America and may our beautiful flag fly high and free forever.
