Wanda Wadsworth Hultgren, age 87, passed away in San Antonio, Texas, November 5th, 2012, after complications with Alzheimer’s disease. One of ten children born to Millard and Nora Wadsworth on September 13, 1925. Wanda graduated from Lubbock High School. She then went to Harden Simmons University in Abilene and graduated Cum Laude in three years. It is there that she met Warren C. Hultgren from Minnesota in her Biology class. They were married in 1946 and remained sweethearts till his death in November of 2010. After college Wanda lived, worked and started a family in Ft. Worth while Warren completed his theology studies at Southwestern Seminary. She followed him as he pastored churches in Corpus Christi, TX, Lake Charles, LA, and then to Tulsa in 1957, where they resided while he was Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church for 35 years and retired in Tulsa. In addition to her role as “First Lady” Wanda traveled all over the world representing Baptists and also for pleasure. She developed a love and appreciation of various cultures and began her life long col- lection of camel figurines and Madonna’s. Her favorite hobby was taking photographs and making photo albums for all to enjoy. Wanda enjoyed watching many sports including her beloved Dallas Cowboys of the 1960-1980’s and the Oklahoma Sooner football teams and PGA Golf Tournaments. Wanda is survived by her daughter Landa, and husband Bob Mabry of San Antonio, their son Clint, his wife Sarah Mabry and two sons of Nashville, son Warren Hultgren Jr. of Tulsa, his daughter Hannah and son Josh. Also, son Howard, his wife Leigh and their daughters Hope, Natalie and Nicole of the Seattle, WA area. Surviving siblings of four sisters and three brothers. Wanda had a warm generous heart, sweet spirit, caring ways, loyalty, sense of humor, and always had a smile for you. She was a good cook, so many happy times were spent in her home around the dining table ... she will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Services will be at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel on Monday, November 12, 2012, at 2:00 P M. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church.
