For having recorded two sacks and recovering a fumble, along with scoring on a 22-yard interception return during the University of Tulsa’s 41-7 victory at Houston, Golden Hurricane defensive end Cory Dorris was named the Conference USA defensive player of the week.

The interception and touchdown were career-firsts for Dorris, a senior from Jenks. Against UCF on Saturday – in an 11 a.m. showdown at H.A. Chapman Stadium – he makes the 48th start of his career.

The C-USA offensive player of the week is UAB running back Darrin Reaves, who rushed for 184 yards and two TDs during the Blazers’ 38-31 win over Marshall. The Conference USA special-teams player of the week is UAB’s Jackie Williams, who scored on a 79-yard punt return against Marshall.
