A Tulsa man was arraigned Tuesday on a federal charge alleging that he knowingly received and possessed child pornography.
Monte R. Betche, 48, was charged in an indictment that was filed under seal last Wednesday. The charges became public Tuesday afternoon when Betche made his initial court appearance.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Gallant said Betche was arrested earlier Tuesday.
A grand jury alleges that on Jan. 5, Jan. 6 and Jan. 8, Betche knowingly received multiple computerized depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Betche is also accused of knowingly possessing such material on Jan. 19.
He will await further developments in the case while free on bond.
