TU women fall to UALR

Tulsa fell to 0-2 with a 73-64 loss to Arkansas-Little Rock on Monday in women's basketball at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
Taleya Mayberry had a team-leading 22 points for the Golden Hurricane, while Tiffani Couisnard had her sixth career double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Loren McDaniel added 12 points for TU.
The Trojans took an early lead and built it into an 11-point advantage with 7:24 left to play, but Tulsa fought back and pulled to within 34-31 at the break.
Mayberry came out in the second half and hit two quick shots to give TU a 35-34 lead with 19:13 left, but UALR took back the lead on a Taylor Gault jumper. Tulsa tied the game at 40 with 15:16 on the clock, but Gault hit a 3-pointer to give the Trojans the lead, which they never relinquished.
