VINITA -- Grand River Dam Authority Chief Executive Officer Dan Sullivan's contract was effectively extended another year on Wednesday.
A rollover clause in the contract took effect because GRDA directors, meeting at the state-owned utility's headquarters in Vinita, took no action on Sullivan's employment following an executive session.
Board Chairman Greg Grodhaus and Director Steve Spears, the longest-serving board member, praised Sullivan for his leadership and openness with employees and customers.
Among the GRDA's immediate challenges is deciding how to deal with stricter federal emissions standards at the aging coal-fired plant near Chouteau.
