OKAY -- A Stillwater man is dead after an apparent domestic altercation Wednesday morning.
Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a residence south of Okay in response to an altercation.
Deputies learned that Michael Shane Smith, 38, of Stillwater, arrived at the residence where his ex-wife was staying, entered the residence without permission and allegedly fought with another man in the home, said Maj. Gary Handley. Smith died allegedly as a result of that struggle, Handley said.
Investigators interviewed the man at the home, but he was not taken into custody as of Wednesday afternoon, Handley said. His identity was not released Wednesday.
The investigation is ongoing, he said.
