Man arrested after 11 hour-long standoff ends in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY - A woman was found dead in the house where an 11-hour standoff took place, said police Capt. Dexter Nelson.

A man who lived in the house with her has been taken to a hospital for minor injuries and will be taken to jail on a homicide complaint.

The address where the standoff took place is 11000 S Bryant Ave. at a house a quarter mile east of Bryant Avenue on a private road on a rural acreage.

The ordeal started Nov. 5, Nelson said. Family members of the woman who lives there with her son said she was last seen on Nov. 5 at the house. She is 77-years-old and her son, Gerald David Hume, 52, was at the house . On Nov. 9 family members asked police to make a welfare check.
